Let's go fly a kite...

March came in like a lamb - - so the first weekend in March we hit the park!!!

Hayden loves airplanes so we bought an airplane kite that we could fly together.  We got in-n-out and had a "picnic" at the park.

The kite is all put together! Peter, Hayden, Landen, and Britt
Max's cuteness was in full force.  He hung out on the blanket in the shade, with his hat on.  Plus I put sunscreen on his precious milky-white skin.
I love this picture it's like he's looking up going "oops, you caught me trying to eat the octopus".
He's so happy!
While Max hung out on the blanket, the boys worked on getting the kite up.  It was windy but not consistently windy so it was hard to get the kite to stay up.
Trying to get the kite up - look what a great park this is for a kite.  Hardly any trees and they are far away!
Hayden was so cute!  When the kite would start to fall he'd run around with his arms up trying to catch it.
Britt and Landen
My hat fell off but who cares, I'm playing with my toes!
Great pic of the kite.
Max checking out his Uncle Joe
I put Max in a swing for the first time.  He wasn't sure what to think or do.

He ended up having fun with it.
After the swing,  Britt and I hung out watching Hayden play on the playground for awhile.  When I was done, I walked back over to the blanket to check on the men who were still flying the kite.  They were pretty far away.  This is what I saw...
The kite looks pretty low but it's in the air, good for them!  Then I walked closer and this is what I saw...

That's right, it's the kite, stuck in a tree.  Remember how few trees there were at this park and how they were far away???  How in the world did these two manage to get that kite stuck in a tree???
So then Peter comes over and gets the keys to my car.  What for?  So he could drive my car onto the grass and use it as a ladder.  Seriously???  I probably rolled my eyes 20 times and was glad they were so far away because maybe some of the patrons of the park wouldn't connect me with the two crazy guys, standing on the roof of a car, trying to get a kite down.  :)

Joe working hard to get the kite free.
They DID get the kite free and it lived to hopefully see another windy day at the park.  Max and I had a fun time watching.  It was certainly an eventful first visit to the park in 2012!

A few pics from the beginning of March

Sleeping Baby

Max has started rolling onto his side when he's sleeping.  But he doesn't just roll onto his side, he arches his back and throws his head back.  Doesn't seem very comfortable to me but it's how he likes to sleep!  Here's a couple of pictures of what that looks like from the beginning of March.

The rest of the pictures are in chronological order and show some of the cute ways I've found him sleeping over the month of March.  You can see by the end of the month how he's getting better at wriggling out of his swaddle and starting to spread out as he sleeps.  By the end of the month he was a pro at rolling over onto his stomach and then back to his back in order to get comfortable.  He no longer stays in one spot without moving.  He can move all over his bed.  At the end of March, his favorite position for sleep is on his belly with his bum in the air.

This was during on of the early mornings where I was just too tired to put him back in his bed after he nursed.  When I woke up, he was reaching out touching his daddy while he slept.  AWWWWWW!!!!!

(The binky is in there just in case he decides he'd like to start sucking on it. Which, of course, he doesn't.  It's more of a teething toy now.)

Minute to Win It!

Want to have a crazy good time?  Just play some Minute to Win It games with your family.

I was playing a large scale game with my team during my upcoming meeting at the end of February and I wanted to do a run through to make sure that all the games I picked were good games and make sure I hadn't missed anything.  So I invited Brittany, Joe, and the boys over to play.

Before the party:  Max played with dad.

Here's our dinner - salads and soup in bread bowls.  The soup was a cheddar cheese soup that we made in the Vitamix (it is still crazy to me that the blade turns fast enough to heat up soup!)
It was so much fun to play all of these games.  Hayden was able to play most of them and did a good job too!  I think we all laughed so hard that night (you know, the kind of laugh that makes you think you might pee your pants?)!!!  Max slept through the game and I was amazed that he didn't wake up from us laughing and screaming so loud.

Brittany playing "Movin' on up"

Joe playing "Face the Cookie"
Video - Brittany playing "Paper Dragon"
The aftermath of "Extreme Hanky Panky"

"Penny Hose" (Hilarious! And HARD!)
Brittany playing "Dizzy Mummy"  I love how Landen is standing there just watching her go.

Video - Hayden playing "Dizzy Mummy"

Brittany playing "Junk in the Trunk"

Video - Peter schooling us all at "Junk in the Trunk"   - - there was a video of me playing this game but I was AWFUL (I couldn't jump all around, it was hurting my foot) and looked ridiculous so that video will never see the light of day.
" Bobble Head"
 Joe rockin' during "Bobble Head"
Brittany was so serious during "Bobble Head"
Having a good time watching

Peter's turn for "Bobble Head"

Even Hayden played "Bobble Head"  (It's my favorite game)

Go Hayden, Go!

"This Blows"
Peter had so much fun he even got a little silly

Video - When we were at Target shopping for supplies for the meeting, Max all of a sudden started talking really loud.  And he did that throughout most of the store.  It was crackin' me up and of course people were looking.  He has never done this before but after he did it this once he did it often for the next few weeks.  Here's a video I took of him later that night after all the fun when he got up to eat and started being loud again.
