A visit to the HOLY PLACE

You are probably thinking that I am talking about Jerusalem. Nope, sorry. Come to Texas and you will soon realize that nothing is more sacred than FOOTBALL. And what is the ultimate place for football? The new Cowboys Stadium of course, aka "Jerry World". We failed to visit this Holy Place in our first year living here but that has now been rectified. We finally made our way to pay homage to the Mecca of Texas. It did not disappoint.

I found a deal online for discounted tickets to watch TCU (Texas Christian University) play Oregon State in the Cowboys Stadium. They still weren't cheap tickets but were far less expensive than paying to go see the Cowboys play there so I jumped on it.

I know that Texans are serious about their football but it's a whole other thing to see it in person. The stadium was a sea of school colors, the fans were crazy passionate, and there were tons of cheerleaders.

We had seats 3 rows up from the field in the endzone. There were a few passes that felt like they were going to come straight at us. COOL! The incredible screen over the field had such a good picture that I found myself watching the screen instead of the field - ha! It was fun and the stadium is seriously awesome but it made me miss BYU football. So, I sang the Cougar fight song to Peter as we walked to our car. Go Cougars! (Oh yeah, TCU won.)

The night before the game Peter and I went to downtown Dallas with my friend from work, Chad. We went to dinner and then hit the clubs. We went to two different clubs and we watched our first drag show. uh...there were moments that were entertaining but also moments that were like, really? seriously? well, uh...more power to ya, I guess. :)
