Maxwell and I were invited last minute to tag along with our friends and go for a ride on the North Pole Express!
Is this the train? Nope
Waiting in line (forever)
Maxwell did such a good job waiting. It's hard being in line for an hour when you are a 3 year old! We sang songs and danced and talked and had snacks.
Finally on the train and heading to our seats
He was excited to be on a train and watching the world go by
Video - We sang Christmas songs on the train (this is where Max started a season long love for "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas...")
Mrs. Claus came by to give silver bells to the children. Maxwell wouldn't even look at her.
It took him awhile to get over his shyness after Mrs. Claus moved onto the next child.
Back to happy. He stayed that way until they started talking about the kids needing to get ready to get off the train and they would be taken to go see Santa. And the kids needed to kiss their parents goodbye.
Max started crying.
When we got off the train, Max was super upset and I tried to figure out what was going on. He said, "I don't want you to leave me at the North Pole." I told him we were both going to the North Pole. He asked, "why?" I told him to see Santa and he goes, "I don't want to see Santa."
Poor sweet boy thought I was leaving him there at the "north pole" because they said for the kids to kiss their parents goodbye. Needless to say, he didn't go with all the kids who were taking to sit up close to the stage, instead he stayed by me.
Walking through snowflake lane where it was snowing. He turned on his little flashlight so we could see where we were walking.
Snowflakes in Maxwell's hair
Ringing his bell to show he believes in Santa
Video - singing Jingle Bells with Santa's Elves
Look! It's Santa!
The highlight of the whole trip - Getting the special Snowflake Chocolate Milk.
While Maxwell wasn't totally into the Santa part of it (he's never watch the movie the North Pole Express so he didn't fully understand everything that was going on), he did have a good time. I love spending time with my boy!!
