Emmalyn's 2 Year Old Birthday Party

We threw a fun little birthday party for Emmalyn's second birthday.

Tida and Jason came over the night before and we enjoyed spending time with them!

Tida made Emmalyn's birthday cake and had a few finishing touches to put on the cake.  It was fun to see her work her magic.  I am so lucky to have such a talented friend who shares her talents with us!

Tida and I went shopping, to dinner, and then got a reflexology massage.  We tried a new place that had a private room just for the two of us.  Our "couples" massage was great.  :)  (and romantic - hah!)

Happy birthday! Britt's family, Sadie/Andrea, Michael/Jessica, my friend Katherine, and our next door neighbors all came to celebrate.  It wasn't a huge party but still felt like a full house.

Emmalyn LOVED having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her.

She tried and tried on the second one but ended up needing help.

We basically did food and cake with party favors.  No games or other things this time.

Emmalyn had a lot of presents and was all about opening them this year!

She was so excited about her new shoes that she stopped everything and wanted to put them on.

Emmalyn's First Swmming Lesson

We finally put Emmalyn in swimming lessons! (We did it with Maxwell when he was about 4 months younger than she is now.)  She was really excited.

She did a great job and seemed to take to everything really easily.  It was fun to be in the pool with her!

And finally, she gets a sucker of her own for her swimming lessons.

Maxwell Open House at Preschool

We got to go to Maxwell's school Open House where the kids get to demonstrate things they have been working on.

Maxwell demonstrated the number chain.  This is a building block for multiplication tables.  He was showing us the 5 chain.

Maxwell has always liked looking at maps.  He's currently enjoying the map we got at the rental car facility in Seattle.
