Sometimes...when you are 4 years old...you get distracted easily especially when getting dressed. (And then mom catches you like this...writing on your white board while singing the theme to "super wings" - - "super wings...uh oh...")
Sweetly sleeping
Big girl climbing on everything
Max got a package in the mail and was excited to read the card
Turtle had made his way back from Austin where he was accidentally left- - Maxwell was very happy (thank you Michelle)
Another sweetly sleeping child
Maxwell wants his work from school displayed on the fridge now
First self portrait
We were "boo'd" by a kind neighbor!!! The kids each got a pumpkin decorating kid and a halloween sippy cup.
Maxwell at school reading quietly on the rug
Even though it's almost the end of September, we are still swimming!
video - Emmalyn can just be intense. She throws a serious fit!
Dancing at Kindermusik
During story time. She will go sit on the blanket (or stand) and maxwell NEVER would at this age.
Playing with scarves
Watching the action
Sweet cuddle moment with dad for a sad Maxwell
Maxwell at Kindermusik - he looks so old to me in this picture. All boy, no toddler. This was the only time we ended up going to Kindermusik this semester. There weren't enough kids to have a class so it was cancelled after this.
Playing with her babydoll
Blanket for the baby
My little reader - - chose to read by momma at the library rather than play with the toys
This one was all about sitting on the big chairs...
...and getting off them and then getting back on and then getting back off...
Tall enough to scan the library card!
One of the best things about going to the library is getting to ride a couple of elevators
The kids and I finished off a fun afternoon out together by going to watch our friend Owen's soccer game
She's standing up in her high chair now which makes things interesting...
The flowers in the front yard got a slow start but ended up being incredibly full and colorful. Now parts of it were fading or getting overrun so it was time to take some of it out.
This part needing the attention the most. Some flowers were still just starting to grow so I didn't get rid of everything.
While I gardened, my handy husband fixed our fridge
The flowers attracted a lot of butterflys but this was the prettiest I had ever seen. The blue was just gorgeous. I wish I had been able to get a better pic.
Another picture
Maxwell helped me plant some new fall friendly flowers. (I bought them at Wal-Mart and they ended up being awful and most of them either died or never grew any further. No more buying flowers at Wal-Mart for me.)
I taught him how to actually plant this time. He even put up with having his hands dirty.
Checking our work
I really enjoy having flowers in my yard!
I have given my foot a rest and stopped striving for 10k steps a day (it was really really hard to stop trying to get steps after I've been in the habit). I was really really really really hoping that my foot would heal and I'd feel better but I'm still feeling pain. I think that I'm going to have to go to the podiatrist and get it checked out (next year...with a new deductible. It's been a pretty healthy year for us so I would rather pay that money next year when I might get some value from it later in the year.)
A little dress up
Maxwell was the star student for his class this year much earlier this year. He enjoyed working on his poster. He did almost all of the work except picking and cutting the pictures. While we waited for the glitter glue to dry, we went outside to play.
Playing with chalk
She picked a flower for her momma.
Chalking it up into the sunset
How cute is this dress?
Chalk everywhere!
All of a sudden she laid on her brother, he was a good sport about it (he normally would have gotten upset and whined about it)
The finished product!
Video - Maxwell and Peter play a game where Peter traps Maxwell in a hug and he won't let him go until he says the secret word. So, Peter will say, "what's the secret word?" and Maxwell will have to say, " tickle me" which then leads to Maxwell being tickled and eventually set free. It's super cute to watch.
What the kiddos have been doing lately...
Max is sounding out words and playing with rhyming words and listening to sounds of words a lot.
He wants to write things down so we work on sounding them out to figure out spelling,
Max loves writing notes and drawing pictures for me.
Emmalyn saying more words- like she said "mouth" and "dress" today, She is getting closer to saying "max" instead of "mat". She says "yup" sometimes instead of "yeah".
Her favorite song is a kindermusik song, "beat the drum." And she will "sing" those first three words and do it on pitch!
She gives us lots of screaming and fits.
She is picky on food and changes what she likes from meal to meal. She won't drink real milk unless it's in a bottle. If it's in a sippy cup she will only take one sip.
Mmmmuah is how she gives her kisses - it's pretty cute.
Max asked me why Emmalyn says "no" all the time. (super observant kid. I think it annoys him.) When she says "no" it's not a cute no either, but a whiny "no" with cute lips.
She won't leave her headbands on anymore so her stringy thin hair is in her eyes. She has cute little curls on the back and it flips up around her ears.
