Maxwell at 5 years old

All about Maxwell....

He no longer sings "little red caboose" to get his dad to come in at night when I'm tucking him in.  :(
Right now, he's a big fan of pokeman (he just got his first set of cards and always wants to trade them).
He's more outgoing than he's been in the past.
He's commonly described as a sweet boy by people.
We still do "Saturday rest day" where he has to lay in bed for 20-30 minutes and then can read.  And "Sunday nap day" where the expectation is that he will take a nap, but he rarely falls asleep during Sunday nap day anymore.  Most of the time it ends up being a long rest followed by him calling for me and then me letting him read.
He wants to know what is for dessert nearly every night after dinner... most nights we can get away with fruit but sometimes we give in and let him have one piece of candy from his bag of Halloween candy from last year (that stuff is good forever).
He has learned to ride his bike without training wheels and had it down after a week.
He likes his hair done with a "part" lately.
He can totally get himself ready in the morning but certainly gets distracted and dallies.
Maxwell loves the show American Ninja Warrior.
He is a fantastic swimmer - - strangers worry about him when we are at pools because he bobs and looks like hes struggling but that's just how he swims (remember - he can't touch the bottom at all).  He is starting to work on diving in his private lessons.  He can do breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly.
He helps me fold towels, washcloths, his underwear and socks.  He's asked to start doing his shirts and has helped hang his shirts up. He has helped me weed and plant flowers,
He's great at cleaning up his room when I ask him to do it.
He's not so good at brushing his teeth - I feel like they are so yellow so we have started brushing his teeth for him at night to make sure they are done well.
He's becoming more brotherly to his little sister (although he doesn't like her slobbery kisses).
His favorite foods are pizza and mac n cheese, doesn't like spicy food anymore.  He loves Catalina dressing on salad (not ranch), still doesn't like carrots.
Maxwell still loves shoes.  He would prefer to wear elastic band khaki shorts or athletic shorts and t-shirts every day - and thus I still pick out his clothes sometimes.
He's great at wearing his glasses but not great at pushing them up on his nose  - - I feel like he's an old man with his readers some times.
He won't call Donna "grandma" and instead calls her "Donna".
