Valentines Day 2017

Maxwell's special Valentines Lunch

Emmalyn got a stick horse (you know...the kind you pretend gallop around on) as her Valentine's Present and Maxwell got some protective card sheets for his Pokemon cards.

Handsomely styled

Hah - kissy face

Emmalyn's Valentines style

Because I'm a co-room parent for Maxwell's class, I helped put on the Valentine's Party.

Maxwell's decorated bag with all the valentines in it

Treats and drinks

Pin the lips on the frog - they also played musical hearts (Like musical chairs but with hearts on the ground)

Working on their valentines craft

Fun to spend time with him at school!

Maxwell's girlfriend Brooklyn was sick and so she missed the party.  (Her mom is the other room parent.  So she came to help set up the party but didn't stay to run the party.  So, again, I was left to run a party pretty much by myself.  I was much more comfortable with it this time.)  Maxwell felt really bad that she missed the party so we went to target to buy her a few special things and dropped them off at her house for her.  Her mom sent me this picture of her loving the present.

Maxwell's tooth is barely hanging on.  It needs to come out so we tried to get it out again.

The floss didn't work and poor Maxwell threw a fit again.  This is torture for all of us!!  At one point Emmalyn was watching but from  way over by the doorway.  She wanted to watch but was clearly nervous because Maxwell was freaking out.

Dallas Zoo - New Years Eve 2016

As another activity, Kimberly Brittany and our families went to the Dallas Zoo.  We've never been there so it was fun to explore a new zoo.  It was much smaller than the Fort Worth Zoo, which was fine by me.  We were able to still see plenty.

Watching some birds

Look, it's a giraffe!

Giraffes and zebras

Watching the gorilla

He came right over to the glass

We ended up splitting off from the rest of them and went around with Tyler.

Tram ride to see more animals

Love those silly faces :)  Tyler was really good with the kids and a good sport even though you could tell being at the zoo was not his favorite thing.

Wiped out!

Another tired kiddo (not Tyler though)

That night we had a spread of snacks to enjoy for New Years Eve and threw a little party.

We played a video of a countdown at about 9 pm so the kids could do it.  They had noise makers and then went outside to make more noise.

After the young kids were in bed, the adults and older kids played apples to apples.  (Not everyone was in a good mood so it wasn't the funnest New Years Eve we've ever had.  I ended up just going to bed earlier than the rest.)
