4th week of January

These two silly kids have matching pony tails on the top of their head.  Maxwell would have his hair in a pony tail all the time if he could.

They climbed into Emmalyn's bed to make her happy

We had to make "snow boots" for Kindermusik so we decorated some empty wipes bags with snowflake stickers, glitter glue (that didn't dry in time because we did it just a couple hours before Kindermusik - whoops)

Showing off those teeth that are getting so big!

We went to a pet store to play with the puppies.  This is how interested Maxwell was in the puppy.  At one point he picked up the binder and preferred reading it to paying attention to the puppy.  Emmalyn was very excited about the puppy.

We finally got him to touch the puppy

Fun at the park getting in some sunshine

How cute is this girl?!!?
She loves playing with her activity table.

Sleeping beauty -
We are in a good place with her sleeping habits!  She went down with no crying for one of her naps and then did it again at bedtime!  It's now after midnight and she hasn't fussed once.  It's amazing!  I think she's got it down. :)  We are able to lay her down awake, but tired, and she falls asleep on her own.

Thanks Aunt Tawny for the BYU gear!

I was at work late one night and so I wasn't able to put Maxwell to bed.  I facetimed with him and he was so sad that I wasn't there.  :(  It was awful.

Hello, personality!

Lots of fun things going on lately.  Nothing overly special, just normal fun stuff.  Max is just a bundle of personality.
Video - In case you didn't know it, Maxwell will tell you his name (and everyone else's)

Video - This is one of the ways Max likes to play in the pool.  He counts to 10 then runs and flops into the pool over and over again.

I did a little more gardening in the front yard.  I added a bunch of flowers and then I finally planted the pots on either side of the garage.

We took a break from all the gardening and took Max to a pet shop. I thought he would really enjoy playing with the puppies and the other animals.  We started with a little puppy.  He looked at it but when he petted the puppy he was a little rough so we decided to try playing with a bigger puppy.

Max did NOT like the bigger puppy.  He tried to push him away...

...and when that didn't work, Max decided to get away himself.  It was pretty funny because the puppy followed him and he kept trying to get away.  He also kept saying "all done".  He just wasn't a fan of playing with the puppies.

He wanted NOTHING to do with the bunny.  The pet shop was a bust.

Dinner was better.  Buckles are such great entertainment!

He was in a silly mood

Ignore the crummy face but don't you love the color of his eyes and his long eyelashes? :)

After all the hard gardening work

Cool dude

After!

After!

Video - Brittany took the boys to see a juggler and Max LOVED it.  He came home and just kept talking about juggling.  He was super excited when Peter showed him that he knew how to juggle.  Max had to show off his juggling skills too.

Bath time

Silly, silly boy

The weather was so lovely that I escaped outside for lunch one day.  It was so relaxing.  I should do it more often!

  • Funny things Max says:  He calls a fart a "poot" and mac & cheese is "monkey cheese"
  • Lately he's been talking in his sleep a lot
  • He loves singing the ABCs and loves everyone else to sing the ABCs
  • We have taken the first baby step towards potty training - he is aware when he pees in the shower.  That's a good awareness, right?
  • He is doing good in Kindermusik but still will only sit on my lap during story time and won't sit on the blanket with the rest of the kids.
  • He gives great kisses
  • He loves to give raspberries, nose kisses, and hugs with cheek smooshes
  • He did great at his second swim lesson and wasn't as timid
  • He calls his power wheels his "toy"
  • He is starting to have more fights and squabbles with Landon...possibly because he doesn't always want to share.
  • He sings more every day.
  • He is such a polite boy with his pleases and thank yous.
  • Brushing his teeth is a battle.  Lately I have been getting him to say "tv cheese" so I can brush the front of his teeth.
  • He still drools, especially when he's focused on something, so we have started reminding him to swallow.  It's been working well and helps him come off automatic and swallow.
