Easter 2015

Easter is here! 4/5/2015

We colored eggs the day before with Britt and the boys

Maxwell did a great job doing it all by himself

The results of doing it all by himself.  :)

Look!  The Easter Bunny came to our house!

The kids while waiting to go see if the Easter Bunny came - They were holding hands!

2 cute, happy kiddos

Video - Here are the kids reactions to finding their Easter Baskets.  (Maxwell came out of the bedroom ready to take pictures of the eggs the bunny kid with his iPAD)

She loved her lamb and even gave him kisses

Happy kid.  (The hot wheels thing opens up and holds hot wheels cars and also makes noises)

Tweaking the bike so Maxwell can ride it

Walking around finding eggs (with a whistle in his mouth)

"Hm...How am I going to get the egg stuck in the net?"

Ah-hah!

He did awesome this year with finding the eggs

A big super-sized sucker for the special occasion rather than the normal tiny dum-dum

Mr. Cool

Peter made a special breakfast with eggs, bacon, and potatoes and I made some muffins.

Happy Easter!

I had to lay next to her to get her to sleep - it was a whole ordeal so I was THRILLED when she fell asleep.  She wants to make sure she's touching you if she's sleeping next to you.

Sweet baby with her drool "bib"

We made a few variations of deviled eggs.  (My mom would have loved that.  She always made deviled eggs for Peter because she knew he liked them.)

Our great neighbors, Chris and Mary Ann, had an Easter Egg hunt for Maxwell again this year, this time inside their house since it was gloomy outside.

Counting the eggs to make sure he found all of them

Video - They gave Maxwell a bubble blower and let him use it inside the house!

Emmalyn trying to catch the bubbles

Our Easter dinner.

Maxwell loved riding his bike.  First he rode it inside the house, the inside the garage, and then finally outside.  He was so happy that when he was riding it outside, he was making happy noises the whole time.  So glad the Easter Bunny brought him his first big kids bike!

The McReynolds invited us over to smash Easter Eggs with them.  I had no idea what that meant but it ended up being really fun.  They had Easter Eggs that were the shell that had been emptied out and filled with confetti.  We had a great time smashing the eggs on each other's heads...on shoulders...on the ground.  It was awesome!!  They were so kind to invite us over and it was a nice break from being stuck inside the house on a gloomy day.

On the way home, Maxwell saw a real bunny outside.  It was cute how he reacted.  He kept saying "hello"...then when he didn't get a response, he goes, "why doesn't he look at me?"  The bunny ran away when Maxwell walked up to him and he came back to me disappointed and goes, "But,  I need to pet him!"

Max scores!

I am so lucky.  Our life is good.  We do fun things, we enjoy each other, and we make memories.  Sure, things aren't perfect.  It's not like I take pictures of the tantrums, the time outs, the messy kitchen, etc.  But when you look at the big picture, we are so blessed.

I made calendars for a few family members including Peter.  I thought he would think it was cheesy but he has said multiple times that he really likes it when he's at work.  I'm so glad.

Bedtime cuddles (not sure why Emmalyn's eyes look foggy)

I was able to go to Maxwell's school and help with the Easter party.  The party included everyone sitting together with decorative plates, napkins, etc. and some snacks.  I sure enjoy being able to help (and I know my help is appreciated...there is rarely any participation from other parents).
"The Groundhogs"

The whole class.  These kids are cute, great kids.

Reading a book after the "party"

After the party, I let Maxwell come back to work with me.  He had fun drawing on my white board.

On Saturday we had another indoor soccer game.  Unfortunately, only half the team showed up which meant that the few kids that did show were in the game for the WHOLE time without being able to sub out.

Check out this series of pics!
Maxwell got to do the kickoff after a goal...

The ball made it through the other players and he got out ahead of them to run after the ball...

He headed for the goal...

AND HE SCORED!!!!! (No picture of the exact moment)  WAY TO GO MAXWELL!  YOUR FIRST GOAL!

Soon after the goal, the fatigue set in...

Running with his head down

These kids did a great job!  It's a long game with lots of running when you don't get to take a break.

She enjoys the games

Kindermusik!  Emmalyn's class has a couple other girls in it.

Maxwell went to Emmalyn's class today since he was going to be the only one in his class.

She loves playing the drums

Emmalyn was a MESS after lunch so dad washed her off in the sink

She ended up just sitting IN the sink

Ack - - her leg went down the drain.  (We quickly removed it just to be safe)

Video - She's so bold!  She's got no problem drinkin from the "fire hose".  She keeps going in for more.
