A happy Doctor's visit leads to an unhappy baby

We took Max to the doctor's office on Feb 24 for his 6 month check up.  He was such a happy baby!!!  He actually cooed and smiled for Dr. Gondol.  I was so glad because he usually either clams up or fusses.  I was worried she might think that he wasn't a happy baby.

Here's his stats from the check up:
Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz (16th percentile)
Height: 24.5 inches (3rd percentile - still a shortie!)
Head: 43 cm (26th percentile)

We were under the sea for this visit.

Happy baby with no clothes on.  Take his clothes off and he immediately starts playing with his feet.

While we were waiting for him to get his shots, he started getting fussy because he was hungry.  I had a bottle that we brought from Brittany's because he didn't drink it that day so we gave him that.  He was sucking on it when he got his shots.  His face went immediately red (like it always does) and he started crying and then he put the bottle back in his mouth and kept sucking.  I'm going to try and remember to bring a bottle next time - it worked great!  The above pic is pre-shots.

Poor kid with his shot band aids.
That night things did not go so well.  Poor Max was so sad and woke up in the middle of the night with a fever.  He hadn't gotten a fever before on shot day.  My heart just hurts when he's not feeling well, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make him happy.  We let him sleep with us so that hopefully he would sleep a little better.

Max's poor sad face in the middle of the night.  He did not feel well.  :(  Times like these make me question whether shots are really beneficial.
When Max woke up in the morning I wasn't sure how he'd feel.  Would he be my happy baby or still not feel well?

Good news - he's my happy baby again!

"I'm up!  Let's play!"
Giant Max about to eat his sleeping daddy.
