Peter went back to work on Monday, the day after Easter. It was my first time being alone with my kids. Of course, Brittany was still in the house but I was without my partner.
Surely this one week old can't be any trouble
However, this is how it feels to have 1 week old. It's not pretty.
Grateful that she sleeps a lot!
Landen wanted to be by her whenever he could
And this is what Max did while Landen was by her side. Clearly he not be bothered by her.
Max did bring her a toy bee and a ball
He wanted to hold her hands! So Sweet! I'm really hoping he ends up liking her and so any small interest feels like a really big and special deal.
(You can't see it in the pic but Landen was keeping watch making sure that Max didn't hurt her.)
I love love love sweet baby lips right after they've been nursing.
Caught her smiling in her sleep. It's nice to know what her conscious smiles will look like. Can not wait to have these smiles be real!
I looked outside and saw these three cousins having a great time together. I thought it was too cute.
That night, Peter and I were out on the couch with Emmalyn when we hear Max screaming in his bedroom. Peter rushed in there and discovered that Max had thrown up in his bed. Like REAL throw up. He's never thrown up for real before. He was so extremely upset. We let him come out and sit with us for awhile.
He had a little bit of a fever
Sad sick boy :(
Taking his own temp.
Ugh, I sure hope he isn't sick. I don't want to stress about him getting the baby sick.
It's hard to believe that today was the day we had scheduled for Emmalyn to be home and instead she's now a week old! I am still in pain and need the pain pills about half an hour before I can take them. Moving gets better each day and Max is more and more interested in his sister each day - for example he asked "Where's baby sister's feet?" when she was covered up and nursing. He told me once when she was crying that she was hungry. When we gave her a sponge bath today he wanted to watch and help take pictures.
Max was too funny tonight at bedtime. We now sing songs as part of our routine and tonight he didn't want to sing songs he already knew, instead he made up the songs on his own. He treated us to future classics such as "Oranges are Yummy" and "Pizza is Yummy". Each song had its own melody that changes with each line of the song. Funny kid.
