It is so nice when we get some good weather days in November. It means lots of time outside!
Maxwell really enjoyed playing with chalk and did a hopscotch plus lots of drawings. He drew the numbers for the hopscotch and some of the squares. It went from 1-10,11,12,13,14,30. :)
A few of the neighbor kids came over to play too and the older boy taught Maxwell how to play tic-tac-toe. Maxwell quickly learned the basics even though he didn't fully grasp strategy.
Video - I caught Maxwell dancing in the car. I love that once he realizes I'm videoing him he still keeps dancing.
We went to watch Jared (neighbor) play soccer. Emmalyn enjoyed hanging with Mr. Chris.
Uncle Joe feeding Emmalyn
Ahhh...my life...the endless grind of washing pump parts and bottles...it never stops!!!
Max made a picture for me and I told him how to spell "Mom". I think he did a great job for his first time! It's fun to think that he can start to write things!
And when it's not lovely...it's cold!
Despite the cold and dark, Maxwell still wanted to play soccer.
My super focused boys
Video - Maxwell sings a few songs and shows that he certainly has a bunch of personality.
Emmalyn is 7 months old!!!! Wow!
I cherish these cuddles so much.
We had a family movie night complete with popcorn and treats. I can't remember us ever doing it with all 4 of us before.
Emmalyn was excited to watch
After taking a break to get ready for bed, she watched a little longer.
Does the movie look better from this angle?
Emmalyn checking it out upside down, too.
Those cheeks are begging to be kissed...
...check!
My cuties. I am a lucky momma!
Am I doing what I should be doing?
We try to stick to routines for Maxwell because he operates so much better when he has a routine. However, when something happens that doesn't fit that routine, he just can't handle it well and I wonder if it's worth it to be so dedicated to routines. We went to swimming lessons (Maxwell's first time as a level 5) and Maxwell didn't have a clean rash guard so we went without the rash guard. However when it came time to get into the pool and do his lessons, he was so upset because he didn't have a rash guard. He ended up having a horrible, waste of our time, swimming lesson. It's soooo frustrating that he can't be flexible. I just don't know what the right way to parent is versus the wrong way. I know that the way that I parent will have such impact on him and while I think we are making good decisions I still question myself...
Emmalyn at 7 months -
- She is spitting up less (yeah!)
- She's starting to be a pro at eating and if I'm eating she is incredibly focused on what I'm having
- She is only pooping once a day since she starting eating solids.
- She now likes her liquid vitamins and can swallow them without choking
- She can transition from crawling to sitting up and is moving around like crazy!
- She wants to be by you wherever you are
- Her binky is more of a toy than something to suck on
- She will sometimes give kisses
- She is still drinking 4 oz bottles, which I have been able to pump but I am noticing my supply going down so I don't know how long I'll be able to supply the 4 oz per feeding that she needs.
- She is nursing 3 times during the night and after 3 am she doesn't want to be put back in her bed so she ends up staying in our bed
- She has bit me a few times when nursing which makes me incredibly nervous to nurse her right now until I know she stops it
- She is still so congested, especially at night so we keep the humidifier going in hopes that it helps.
- She loves Maxwell and wants to be around him which he doesn't like.
- Emmalyn is not a big cuddler, which is kind of sad for me. So clearly (as you see in my pics) I love holding her at night when she sleeps after nursing.
- Emmalyn wants her momma! She will reach for me and push off people to get to me.
- She will climb up and onto her toys, like the activity table we have on the floor without its legs.
- She has no birthmark at this point
- We are still not sure what color her eyes will be
- She has started growling
