Arboretum at Christmas Time

Nana has never been to the Dallas Arboretum and we've never been at Christmas time... plus the weather was great so it was a match made in heaven!

My kids are both really loving the time with Nana

All the grandkids with Nana

At Christmas time the Arboretum has these amazing displays for the 12 Days of Christmas.  They are quite elaborate and pretty.  This was the first day.

Tried to get a pic with the kids but Landon wasn't interested in pictures.

It was good to see some flowers...I wasn't sure we'd see any flowers in winter.

Family pic which would have been great if it wasn't for those shadows...dang

Max wanted to take some pictures

Taking time to smell the roses

All of us in the rain garden

Emmalyn's "smelling" the roses involves her tongue.  :)

Snack time

Watching the animated display

Lots of running on the big grassy areas is required on a nice day in winter!

Pointing at the bug she found (a tiny aunt)

Santa was at the Arboretum.  Max has been scared of Santa so far in his life so I was totally shocked when he walked up to Santa!  He was too far away for me to hear what he was saying but I could see Maxwell taking off his glasses and showing Santa.

Apparently he noticed that Santa had glasses just like him and wanted to show Santa his glasses.  :) Santa even took off his glasses to show Maxwell.  It was incredibly sweet and they were fast friends after that.

After Santa we ran into Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph.

(Max looks and me and whispers, "Mom, there's guys in there")  He wasn't fooled by these two.

Then we went and saw a real reindeer!

Max and Nana sharing a scarf.

It was a fantastic day.  Nana loved the Arboretum.  I always love the Arboretum.  :)
