Maxwell's First Elementary School Party - Winter Party 2016

The room mom's at Maxwell's school are responsible for putting on the 3 class parties each year (winter, valentine's day, and end of year).  The entire grade does the exact same thing in each classroom so you end up having a bunch of room moms to help put the party together.  The other co-room mom in Maxwell's class also has another daughter at the school so she asked if I would be okay if after about 20 minutes she left and went to the other classroom.  I figured that the teacher would also be in there so it would be fine.  EXCEPT something happened (I never heard what) and Maxwell's teacher wasn't in the classroom at all the whole party until the very end.  So it was just me.  There were other parents in there but they just stood around and watched (so annoying).

So, I did my best to pretty much run this party on my own and wrangle these 20 kindergartners.  It was a little hectic at times but at the end of the day, I think all the kids had fun and that's all that matters.

The party had to be winter themed.  NOTHING could be tied to Christmas due to school rules.

For the craft they decorated a paper hat and then put snowballs on it

Maxwell and his girlfriend, Brooklyn.  These two LOVE each other.  They crack me up (she's so tall!)  He calls her Brookie and she calls him Maxie.  He tells me that at recess they just run around giving each other hugs.  This relationship has definitely been spurred on by Brooklyn.  GIRLS!!!!

Oh look - Christmas presents are arriving.  I love being able to shop online from your couch!

Halloween 2016

Emmalyn tried pull ups for the first time!

Maxwell drew this to enter into the Reflections Contest at school

Note his description of what he drew.  :)  What a sweet boy.

We took the kids to the annual Halloween festival at Brittany's church

Waiting FOREVER to go on one ride

Wasn't sure if the kids would end up going but they all did.  Emmalyn and Maxwell sat together and Landen sat behind them.  They had fun.  Whew!

They wanted to get their face painted but the line was super long so instead we waited in a sort of long line to get glitter tattoos.

They had fun playing games

Emmalyn was the only one who wanted to do the petting zoo.

Snow cones

The group all had fun

HALLOWEEN!!!!! Ready for Trick or Treating!

Our first stop is always the Rays

Trying to take a family pic

Avery was sweet and walked Emmalyn to the neighborhood party

A bunch of the neighborhood kids

She did it all on her own this year and did an awesome job!!!

Maxwell and Peter moved much quicker and ended up going on ahead without us.

Checking back in at the Rays on the way home.  She did not want to go in!

Our pumpkins

Trying some candy - one piece tonight

Maxwell wanted to go back outside so I let him handout some candy but there weren't very many trick or treaters.  He was calling to people trying to get them to come over.

Halloween success!!
