It's hard to believe but Maxwell is One Month Old!
Partial-Tummy time on the Boppy pillow
Max's first full smile captured on camera
I love this video because you can see exactly how he is moving his hands at this age and there are even a couple of baby coo's at the end.
He loves snuggling up to his dad
I added this picture for my mom - I remember she always called this "Opera O" lips
Love those little feet
This video focuses on his face so you can enjoy all the silly faces he makes as well as enjoy how quickly his mood swings. :)
This is how I grocery shop now. There is very little room for the groceries. I have learned that Safeway (Tom Thumb) has the largest carts.
"Uncle" Chad came and visited. Max was so calm and happy sitting on his lap.
On the 21st, I had another one of those momma-freak-out moments. I noticed a flake of dry skin on the top of Max's head so I went to pick it out of his hair. When I got it, I noticed that I had a couple of Max's hairs in my fingers too! What?! Surely I wasn't rough enough to pull his hair out! So I try to pull some out to see if it really is that easy and his hair just falls out in my fingers. Note to self - his hair is easy to pull out, be careful. Well, that night we are giving Max a bath and when I am shampooing his head, his skin starts rubbing off and more hair comes out!!! I promise that I am not THAT vigorous when I shampoo his head. By the end of the bath and drying him off, he had basically lost the majority of hair on the top of his head. I totally freaked out. Thank goodness for Google - apparently it's completely normal for babies to lose their hair especially around one month old. I didn't read anything that talked about only losing it on the top of the head and not all over, but I did feel comforted that nothing was wrong and this was normal. It will eventually grow back (and hopefully not 8 months later like one lady wrote).
Max's head after the bath - you can see that most of the hair on the crown of his head is gone
One night Peter was kissing Max and he kept scrunching up his nose after Peter kissed him. I kinda got it on video. We laughed (and kept doing it) for like 1/2 hr. It's silly how entertaining we find our son.
It was time to finally stop putting Max in the bassinet to sleep - you can see he is now too long. This was the last day he slept in the bassinet. It's sad because this was the first thing to change and show that he was moving away from that small little newborn baby.
My handsome boy (who looks to me like a Klingon baby in this picture since he lost his hair)
This was the first time that Landen showed any interest in Max. It was so cute - he tenderly reached out with 1 finger to touch Max's head.
Landen checking out Max some more
Max didn't mind Landen. :)
Things that changed with Max this week:
Max's cry is starting to shift. He isn't always crying that newborn cry.
He cried his first tears this week. So sad!
He has been really gassy which has led to him being pretty fussy. Nothing is working and we are really trying everything from gas drops, gripe water, frequent burping, putting him in different positions, etc.
Wife, Mom, and Career Woman. Trying to succeed at all three. Enjoy cruising, time with friends and family, and sleeping. Busy life doesn't leave time for as much fun as in the past but that's okay, it's still a good life.
