Thanksgiving cruise with the Footes - Part 5 Thanksgiving

Some of the pics we have taken so far...

Our second to last full day on the boat was Thanksgiving! We got quick a lot of things in!  We all had breakfast in the dining room rather than the buffet.  Unfortunately we let Emmalyn have some ice cream before we ate (ice cream leads to bad things digestively in my family...) and so she had a blowout at breakfast that I had to deal with.

While the kids napped with Peter, I stayed out with the Foote's.  We enjoyed played cards and then had lunch.

After they woke up and ate, we dropped the kids off at the kids club for an hour.

Other fun things we did today: played mini golf, tried to find these little rubber duckies hidden all over the ship, and did some trivia.

Gorgeous Day

We got dressed up for dinner and Peter got some room service since we hadn't done it all trip.  We also tried to watch a little of the Cowboys football game.

Since we were all dressed up, we took some photos.

The whole group

Fancy dinner

Dinner took FOREVER.  Seriously, most people during our seating had finished and left by the time we got our entrees.  I know it was Thanksgiving and everyone wanted the same thing but come on, they should have been better prepared.  It was sort of a traditional turkey dinner but with a twist.  It didn't end up being very good.

Entertaining the kids during some trivia

We were only passing time until it was time for karaoke! No one was really into it tonight so it was just Max and me while everyone else went to do something else.  Maxwell did a song by himself and then everyone showed back up.  Maren, Emmalyn, Maxwell and I did "Let it go" from Frozen.
Then Maxwell did "shut up and dance".  There weren't a lot of people in there but when it was time for Maxwell to sing, people passing the room would come in and watch.  (I had a woman stop me in the bathroom and ask me specifically if my son was going to do karaoke because they were only coming to see him sing.)  He definitely drew a crowd!

Keman Boardwalk and Thanksgiving 2016 Cruise with the Footes

We got up early and headed to Galveston to go on a cruise over the Thanksgiving holiday to the Caribbean with the Foote Family!

The sun was in her eyes

Almost ready for a nap

Reading!  They were both really good travelers

We got to the Houston area a few hours before the cruise left so we met up with my Cousin Melissa and her family at a place called the "Keman Boardwalk".  We had lunch and enjoyed the boardwalk.  The kids had a great time together, the adults had fun visiting, and there was lots to do!

Emmalyn had Angelina and Vanessa wrapped around her little finger

Ready to go on a train ride!

Angelina, Maxwell, and David

Grumpy photobomb from the guy in the back

Emmalyn LOOOOOVED the train ride.  She thought it was so cool and kept making the whistle noise.

All of us!  (As the sun started going down, it got pretty cold quickly!)

We made it to the port!  Unfortunately the line to get through the check-in process was HORRENDOUS!  We have never had to sit through such an awful line.  And the kids were exhausted, bored, hungry...you name it.  ROUGH!

Finally getting on the boat!

Waiting during the muster drill.  Thank goodness we had jackets.

Because it took so long to get onto the boat, we all did dinner at the buffet and wandered around a little checking out the boat.  We got the kids all signed up for the kids club.  Unfortunately our rooms were not ready until after 7 so we were carrying a bunch of stuff around with us that whole time (stroller, backpacks, snacks, etc...you know everything but the suitcases).

When we finally got into the room, Emmalyn's crib wasn't delivered yet so I had her lay next to me in bed which made it really tough for her to go to bed because it wasn't what she was used to.  While I stayed in the room getting the kids to sleep, Peter went out exploring.  When he got back, I went out on my own and found the yummy Neapolitan style flat pizza which is sooooo delicious (Probably one of my top 3 favorite foods on a Carnival ship).  My suitcase didn't get delivered until 12:20 which was super annoying.

Emmalyn slept in a crib.  It was a little cramped but she managed.

Maxwell knocked out in his bed.

So excited to be on a cruise!!!

3rd week of November 2016

Not much out of the ordinary going on this week...just getting excited to go on our cruise next week!
My cute girl

I took advantage of a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy some in-n-out deliciousness.  (There was a burger but I ate it all!)

Emmalyn working on her puzzles

Eating an apple whole!

I helped out Maxwell's teacher by cutting a bunch of her lamination.  It took a few hours and I should have gotten better directions.  There were a couple times I wasn't quite sure where she wanted me to cut.  Hopefully I didn't screw it up too much!

I love the way this looks on the fireplace!

Thanksgiving 2015

Usually we go to Utah for Thanksgiving.  It was nice to be home this year and enjoy a nice long break at home!

I got to go to Maxwell's Thanksgiving party at school

They had a full feast

Maxwell and his friend, J.K.

After school, Maxwell helped me shop for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving morning, these two were hanging out in my bed while Maxwell read to his sister.

He loves doing workbooks (and since he can read, he does really well independently)

Video - Maxwell's Thanksgiving song

All cute for the holiday

Playing with her dollhouse

Now doing a puzzle

A little croquet before the big meal

This weed has grown up by our dead tree.  I'm not sure what it is but it added some green/purple berries so I left it alone.  :)

Because you HAVE to have something to snack on while dinner is cooking

Dinner and our awesome turkey chef (look how gorgeous the turkey is!)

A little wii for the boys

The characters they picked cracked me up

The place mat Maxwell made at school - I loved it! (look at all those hand prints!  Getting his hand in the paints has not been a big deal this year)

Aren't these two the cutest?  It's great they get along so well since they spend so much time together during the day.

All the kids

Maxwell was very excited for his pumpkin pie!

The next day we made more whip cream and this little pumpkin got a beater

Hiding out in the TV stand.  So super cute...until that one time when she pulled the door shut on her fingers and then it was painfully sad.  :(

Emmalyn with her blocks and Max with his legos

Video - Maxwell is LOVING playing his Dance Central Spotlight.  He's fun to watch.

We had our friends Melissa, Clint, Owen, and Avery over for a special "decorate your own" pancake breakfast.  The kids used sprinkles, frosting, whip cream, fruit...etc.  They had a blast.

Black frosting...never a good idea

Caught Emmalyn playing by herself in Max's room and wearing his hat

This girl LOVES to dip her food.  She will ask "dip?"  Very different from Maxwell who isn't a big dipper.

Using up the leftover turkey for homemade turkey taquitos and cranberry salsa

The kids got a lot of game time thanks to gloomy weather

Not always a bundle of joy

Joe made the best guacamole ever!

Cousin time

And even more screen time...  It's been a nice, lazy weekend.

I'm not sure if Emmalyn is right or left handed anymore uses both.
Max asks me every day about when he is going to get his glasses.  I'm glad he's so excited.
Max has been very sensitive lately and cries so easily if doesn't get his way
Emmalyn has said "um" a few times when we ask her a question and she's thinking about it. :)
She asked peter "why?" today.
She doesn't like having her head in the water anymore which is a bummer when I'm trying to wash her hair.  It used to be so easy!
