After the presents, cake, and clean up bath for Max, we all headed over to Cici's for dinner. Max's special day continued with us letting him have pizza for the first time. He enjoyed it.
Then I thought I'd let him try a brownie. He didn't like the cake earlier, so maybe he's a brownie person?? You never know unless you try! I started with a tiny piece which he gobbled up followed by a couple more pieces. Finally I figured, it's his birthday...let him have the whole thing! And this is how that played out...

Nice finger up the nose
That is the best thing ever!!!
Wait...my hands are dirty!
I'm done.
As you can see, he totally dug into that brownie. I totally got the messy birthday boy moment that we didn't get earlier. I'm sure the people in Cici's thought we were bonkers. Peter, Brittany, Joe, and I all had our cameras/phones out taking pictures of Max going to town. We were so happy to see him finally get into it after the cake failure earlier. (That's why there is a couple pics from different angles with different lighting...I used my favorite pics regardless of the photographer.)
We were stuffed when we left so we decided to take a walk around the pond that was close to the restaurant.

Video - I wanted to capture Max walking but of course once I tried to take the video he wouldn't cooperate.
Waving goodbye.
Happy 1st Birthday Maxwell! This year has flown by. I hate how big you are getting but enjoying every minute of it. You are the perfect addition to our family. You have brought such joy and fun into our lives. We sure are lucky to have such a cute and good boy.
Well now you know for his next birthday making a brownie cake is in order. He really is getting big.
