Here is a great, big, fun update about all things Emmalyn:
Maxwell calls her Emmalyn and Emmo as a nickname.
She doesn't like yogurt or cheese but other than that is a really good eater.
She loves to eat, especially cheerios off the ground. She is able to drink water out of a sippy cup, normal cup, and out of a straw. Often if she sees us drinking water she will grunt until she gets something to drink too.
Bedtime routing - sometimes we read to her but most of the time we read to Maxwell and she watches. We then all cuddle as a family but mostly it's the two kids fighting over cuddling with me.
She goes to bed when Max goes to bed - around 8:30 and sleeps until 4:30/5:00 when she wants to nurse. So I bring her into bed with us and she nurses and falls asleep. Once asleep if I push her into the middle of the bed to give me space, she will roll back over right next to me when she realizes she isn't touching momma. She gets super mad when I try to give her the binky when I am tired of her nursing/sleeping.
She is more dramatic than I remember Maxwell being. I wonder if she's just different than Max or if it's because she's a girl. She will be so happy the majority of the time but her other mood is just upset and screaming. She's got this scream that is more grunt than screech.
She can say Mama, Dada, Buh buh, and within the last day or so I swear that she is saying "yeah" when you ask her a question. She is jabbering a lot more.
She loves taking showers and will stand against the shower door if someone else gets to shower and she doesn't. Then, when the door opens, she makes a dash to try and get in.
Sometimes she eats her vitamin drops and sometimes she refuses and spits them out or fights them.
She loves her brother and they have more and more times where they are playing together - especially with the doll house. She wants to be around him all the time and in the morning will go sit by him while he's on the ipad and just watch.
She's tried to go up the stairs a few times and even made it up 6 stairs once before I grabbed her. We now have the gate up so I don't stress when she wanders around the house.
She gets so happy when we go outside. I wish I could just sit her on a blanket outside but she moves so much and eats so much off the ground that it wouldn't work.
She's standing like a pro but doesn't like to walk while holding your hands. She'd prefer to drop down and crawl. (I put her dresses a lot and she's figured out how to crawl in them with no problem.)
I think she will be more adventurous than Maxwell. I also think she will catch on musically sooner. She's really aware of music and will often clap to the music. She LOVES Kindermusik class.
I can't believe she will be 1 in two weeks. It does not seem like she's been in our family that long and I don't feel she's big enough to be one.
Her favorite toy lately is the doll house and the toy that is basically like a front door of a house with a door bell, door that opens and closes, etc.
