It was an early morning and I was worried how Max would do since it meant he wouldn't get to sleep in as much as he likes. Plus, his eating schedule would be thrown off. Based on what Peter knew, we thought this was just a short walk or a fun run type of race. When we got there we realized it was a full 5k walk.
I was nervous because I hadn't really walked very far on my foot and certainly not 5k but I didn't want to not do it. (And just my luck, the course didn't have a good "bail out" spot. If you started it, you would have to finish it - no good short cuts.)
We had a great time walking and visiting with some of Peter's co-workers like Marlene, his boss Brenda, and his co-worker Andrea. We enjoy spending time with Andrea, her husband, and her 2 yr old daughter. We've had dinner at their place a few times and Andrea and I have hung out as well. She's my partner-in-crime at baby consignment sales.
Max did a good job on the race. He was happy in his stroller for most of the time. When we had about 1/4 mile left, he finally had enough and we took him out of the stroller and Peter carried him the rest of the way. It was nice an overcast which meant temperatures weren't too hot but it was a little humid for my tastes.

We're going to make it!
Showing off his chubby cheeks - Oh how I love to kiss those!
We made it!
Later that afternoon we went to the park with Brittany and her boys. The sun was out and it was much hotter! (My foot ended up being pretty sore after the 5k so I didn't want to walk around much at the park.)

"I'm outside? AND I can read a book? SCORE!"
"Are you done yet so I can get back to my book?"

Looking at these pictures, I think Max looks like Peter.
I don't know why the orientation on the below pictures is off, they are right side up on my computer. Thanks Blogger!
